My Crossover Story
Growing up as an athlete, I found an early passion with the game of basketball. I played point guard, a position often described as the “coach on the floor” responsible for calling plays, owning much of the ball-handling duties, and making good decisions for the team to be in position to win.
My love for the game continued after graduating from University of Missouri. While starting a career in HR, my nights were spent running basketball clinics and coaching teams. For over 11 years, I translated my coaching skills to several top Fortune 500 companies in Healthcare, CPG, and Retail. I am grateful to have worked across several concentrations, including leading early career talent programs, performance management, and specializing in diversity recruitment and sourcing strategies. Through each opportunity to move into a new role, I realized how much change brought on uncertainty I needed to face. Figuring out how to move onto the right opportunity and remastering a new space once it happened had so many questions and feelings associated with finding success. I found myself going back to the basics; memories of the repetition it took to become a good basketball player. My lessons learned from sport put my purpose into the brand of my consulting practice.
